Health benefits of rice

Rice is a fantastic ingredient to put in your chicken soup and there are several reasons why this is the case. Some of the main benefits of this ingredient include:

– Provides excellent energy intake,
– Is an easily digestible food,
– Is rich in plant protein,
– Is rich in iron and potassium,
– It is a source of B-complex vitamins and E,
– It has low fat contents.

Healthy rice soup recipe for kids

When preparing a rice soup you can use various bases, including that of chicken soup or of fish and vegetable soup. In our version, we opted to use a vegetable base.

Ingredients:

– 1/2 cup (cup) rice
– 1 carrot
– 1 onion
– 2 garlic cloves
– ½ cabbage
– 1 cougette
– olive oil to taste
– salt to taste
– parsley (to taste and optional)

Preparation:

In a pot, put the vegetables properly washed and finely chopped (except garlic), to cook in water. Add the salt and parsley.
Cook for 10 minutes and remove them, leaving only the broth and add the rice, letting it cook.

In a second pan, put a dash of olive oil and add the chopped garlic, then add the vegetables you have strung together and sauté them lightly.

When the rice is cooked, add as much vegetables as you deem appropriate (we put two tablespoons of vegetables in our soup) and stir.
Check the seasoning and serve.
